Adam is an immigration attorney who focuses exclusively on business immigration law, working with human resources departments, global mobility managers and in-house counsel to develop and pursue customized corporate immigration policies and strategies, facilitate the hiring and international movement of key personnel, and comply with I-9 regulations.

As a member of the firm’s immigration practice group, Adam advises clients seeking to obtain immigration benefits for themselves and their employees. He has extensive experience in the manufacturing, retail, e-commerce, financial services, and energy industries, working with clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to start-ups, nonprofits, and individuals. Adam manages the delivery of high quality immigration services related to the hiring of foreign nationals and movement of personnel between international offices, with a focus on L-1, H-1B, E-2, TN, O-1, and H-3 visa categories, and all of the employment-based permanent residence categories. He also assists in supervision of the practice’s Global immigration services.

Adam is a contributing author to the the firms Immigration Law Blog.  He is a regular speaker, presenting on a wide range of business immigration law topics to human resources personnel at conferences and client locations.

    Professional Career

    Significant Accomplishments
    • Assists clients with petitions and visa applications to permit employment of foreign nationals, primarily in the H-1B, L-1, and E-2 categories, including dependent visas and employment authorization for spouses of L/E employees.
    • Counsels businesses on policies and procedures for I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification, including visits to client sites to perform internal audits and training for personnel.
    • Assists clients with establishing Blanket L programs to facilitate the efficient transfer of international employees to locations in the United States.
    • Assists non-profit organizations with obtaining cap-exempt status for the filing of H-1B petitions; and religious organizations from various denominations with R-1 visas and special immigrant petitions for temporary and permanent employment of religious workers; also successful using traditional business visas (H-1B and L-1) for clergy and nuns.
    • Assists hospitals and medical clinics with immigration matters specific to the health care industry including J-1 waivers and National Interest Waiver immigrant petitions for physicians employed in medically underserved areas; programs to recruit and retain nurses from outside of the United States; and obtaining visas and VisaScreen health care certifications for various other health care workers such as physical therapists, occupational therapists and nurses.
    • Assists schools with H-1B petitions for teachers and other personnel, and programs to sponsor and maintain the immigration status for their F-1 students.
    • Counsels clients on the immigration consequences and available strategies for situations involving mergers and acquisitions.
    • Assists new clients with rehabilitation of previous denials of petitions for H-1B status, and reinstatement of status, including limited situations involving ineffective assistance of prior counsel.
    • Assists clients with visas for training programs utilizing J-1 and H-3 visa categories; B-1/B-2 visa applications; O-1 petitions for extraordinary entertainers, artists and scientists; P-1 petitions for internationally recognized athletes; P-3 visas for cultural entertainers; C/D visas for crew members; and I visas for employees of foreign media services.
    • Extensive experience preparing employment-based immigrant visa petitions for multinational managers/executives and outstanding researchers, labor certifications including PERM processing through the US Dept. of Labor's national processing centers in Atlanta and Chicago, and family-based immigrant visa petitions and K-1/K-3 visas for fiancées and spouses of US citizens.
    • Assists with structuring EB-5 immigrant investor opportunities, as well as preparation and processing of related petitions and applications.
    • Successful representation of asylum applicants before administrative law courts.
