Profile

Having previously worked as an Assistant Crown Solicitor and Acting Head of Legal Services at Metro North Hospital and Health Service, I understand government priorities and legal needs.

I have a broad legal skillset, with expertise in industrial disputes, public sector appeals, discipline, executive officer appointments and terminations, discrimination, compliance with human rights laws and whistleblower/public interest disclosure and CCC obligations.

I have a special interest in human rights compliance and regularly appear before Commissions and Courts on human rights matters.

Career highlights

  • Department of Transport and Main Roads: Advising on industrial relations issues relevant to the Gold Coast Light Rail project and Cross River Rail project. Advising on disability access issues and defending discrimination proceedings with respect to the use of mobility devices on public transport.
  • Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service and Department of Health: Advising on remote area flexibility arrangements for remote healthcare workers and drafting template agreements and supporting procedures.
  • Queensland Health and Department of Education: Assisting in the drafting of COVID-19 mandatory vaccination and exemption documentation.
  • Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service: Advising in respect of complex insourcing and transfer of business issues, assisting with the negotiations and drafting key communications and correspondence.
  • Queensland Health: Representing senior scientists in the DNA Commissions of Inquiry.
  • Queensland Health: Advising on pay parity issues where public health services are provided through private health providers.
