Profile

Bukola Mabadeje is a Shareholder in the Firm’s Real Estate and Commercial Finance practice groups, with extensive experience representing lenders in the middle market segment in real property and personal property secured and unsecured transactions. She also advises equity investors in utilizing a varying mix of investment structures to meet their needs.

Bukola boasts an impressive track record and a substantial client portfolio in different types of financing for real estate transactions for purposes such as acquisition, development, and construction, whether in commercial real estate financing or community development financing. Her expertise extends to leveraging low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, and other structured approaches aimed at achieving affordable housing and rehabilitation of historic buildings. Her experience spans various property types, including multifamily, co-living, office, hospitality, retail, and industrial spaces, all across the United States.

Additionally, Bukola adeptly handles other real estate transactional matters, including commercial real estate purchases and sales and office leasing.

In addition to her real estate expertise, she advises agents, lenders and borrowers alike in commercial finance transactions, covering secured and unsecured asset-based and balance-sheet loans from a single lender or a syndicate of lenders. She is well versed in negotiating complex financing and security agreements, guarantees, intercreditor agreements, and other critical transaction documents.

Beyond her legal expertise, Bukola is a proactive member of Buchalter’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. She is deeply engaged in her community, serving on several nonprofit boards, including International House, UC Berkeley.

Bukola was named “One to Watch” in Banking and Finance Law by Best Lawyers from 2022-2024.
