Profile

Jennifer has a broad-based litigation practice focusing on complex commercial disputes. She regularly defends clients in contract disputes, securities litigation, real estate disputes and intellectual property matters.

Jennifer’s practice focuses on investigation and litigation of complex business disputes and regulatory matters, representation of public and private companies, banks, professional service firms, and executives. She litigates commercial matters involving contracts (including insurance and real estate contracts), business torts and fraud. Jennifer also has represented clients in complex disputes in the media, entertainment and arts industries.

Jennifer is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the District of New Jersey.

Prior to her graduation from law school, Jennifer interned at the Supreme Court of the United States and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Jennifer’s pro bono work has focused on representing victims of domestic violence in all aspects of divorce actions in the New York state courts.

Relevant Experience

  • Financial Services: Jennifer has considerable experience representing one of the nation’s largest mortgage servicers in litigation regarding its mortgage servicing practices in federal court actions in Ohio and Louisiana. She currently represents a financial institution in a multi-party lawsuit arising from a regulatory-event redemption of corporate bonds by a government-regulated issuer.
  • Real Estate: Jennifer has experience litigating real estate disputes from inception through conclusion, including through final hearing at AAA arbitration. She also has significant experience drafting pretrial motions for real estate clients, including summary judgment motions.
  • Civil Investigations: Jennifer’s experience includes serving as counsel to a former SEC Commissioner appointed as monitor arising from the SEC/NYAG investigations into alternative trading systems. Jennifer also has experience defending financial institutions in SEC and FINRA investigations relating to various securities products sold to retail investors.
  • Media/Intellectual Property: Jennifer has litigated licensing disputes on behalf of a media-telecom company in federal and state court and served as a member of two trial teams in connection with these disputes. Jennifer currently defends and counsels various media companies in copyright infringement cases in federal court. She serves as part of a team that is representing a music festival producer in a novel trademark dispute relating to the licensing of its intellectual property for cannabis products.
  • Art Law: Jennifer has defended an auction house against subrogated negligence and breach of contract claims. She has also represented an owner of fine art in litigation involving consignment and insurance issues.
