Profile

John’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation.

John is an associate in the antitrust and competition practice group.  His practice focuses on antitrust, energy, and other complex civil litigation in state and federal courts.  John also represents corporate and individual clients in connection with government investigations.

John’s pro bono practice has included the representation of indigent criminal defendants in the federal district court and court of appeals.

Prior to joining Hunton & Williams, John served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert E. Payne of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

John is admitted to practice before the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and numerous federal district courts nationwide.

  • Representing interior door manufacturer in antitrust litigation and related breach of contract dispute.
  • Defending major energy company in cases relating to royalty payment practices.
  • Representing major energy company in connection with numerous federal. administrative and state court disputes over mineral ownership.
  • Representing forest products company in major CERCLA cost recovery action.
  • Represented major energy company in a U.S. Department of Justice and federal agency investigation.
