Mark’s practice focuses on antitrust and trade regulation, including merger review, government investigations, antitrust litigation, and criminal antitrust defense.

Mark is an associate in the competition practice group in Washington, DC, where he focuses his practice on a range of competition and antitrust matters including complex civil litigation, criminal antitrust defense, and Hart-Scott-Rodino compliance. He represents domestic and international clients in several industries, including energy, aerospace, manufacturing, grocery retail, and entertainment.

Prior to joining Hunton & Williams LLP, Mark earned a degree in economics and government at Claremont McKenna College. For three years, he worked in the litigation consulting and expert testimony field on matters related to antitrust, labor, environmental, and complex damage calculations. Mark also worked on issues related to global antitrust economics as a Research Fellow at the George Mason University Law & Economics Center.

Relevant Experience

  • Representing leading Asian manufacturer in a Department of Justice criminal investigation and a national class action alleging price-fixing and related conduct.
  • Represented a major energy company in multi-state investigations and litigation alleging fraud, unjust enrichment, and false claims.
  • Successfully represented a major music company in antitrust investigations by state Attorneys General of licensing terms.
  • Represented an aerospace company in an antitrust action challenging an exclusive dealing agreement. Plaintiffs voluntarily dismissed their case.
  • Represented one of the world’s largest supermarket chains before the Federal Trade Commission in connection with strategic divestitures of grocery assets in the United States.
  • Represented a major food services and facilities management company in breach of contract and veil-piercing claims.
  • Represented an automotive component parts manufacturer in a successful acquisition of a competitor before the Federal Trade Commission.
