Sappawit’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, general corporate and commercial matters, and regulatory compliance in the telecom and IT industries.

Sappawit advises clients on telecommunications and IT law, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution in the telecommunications and IT industries. He also advises on general corporate, commercial, and mergers & acquisitions. Prior to joining the firm, he has over 8 years’ experience in one of the largest international telecommunications companies in Thailand. Sappawit also has extensive experience in the startup, venture capital, and FinTech arena. 

Relevant Experience

  • Advised a Chinese leading provider of internet value-added services in its investment in a new business venture related to user generated content in Thailand by facilitating its partnership with the leading digital and user-generated content platform in Southeast Asia to establish a new company providing a digital content platform under a ‘content ecosystem’.
  • Advised Thai company in the sale of its 49 percent stake of five solar power plant project companies to one of the listed company on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. The companies entered into power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Thai Provincial Electricity Authority for 12 solar power plants situated in Thailand, having an electricity generating capacity of 48 MW in total, with a transaction value of THB1.3 billion. This representation included end-to-end M&A processes and secured obligations.
  • Represented InVent, a corporate venture capital arm of Intouch Holdings Public Company Limited, in its acquisition of equity stakes in Wongnai, a Thai food and lifestyle review portals provider. This transaction was the first Series B financing round made by Thai venture capital for a Thai startup.
  • Represented founders of T2P Company Limited in raising funds from 500 TukTuks and Benchachida Holding Company Limited.
  • Advised several telecommunications operators and IT companies regarding the telecommunications and IT law, regulation issues, dispute resolution strategy, network infrastructure projects, network wholesale as well as technology sourcing.
  • Represented a company of the Thai, Myammar and Japanese governments in preparing to develop projects in Myanmar Special Economic Zone.
  • Advised client on starting a new telecommunications business in Papua New Guinea and the Maldives.
  • Represented clients in negotiating and entering into agreements with network and IT equipment vendors.
  • Represented company in its application for a telecommunications business license and 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz spectrum licenses in Thailand.
