Profile

Suzanne helps clients navigate the complex intersection between law, science, and business.

Suzanne focuses on all aspects of intellectual property law, with an emphasis on patent litigation, prosecution, counseling and portfolio management and licensing. Drawing on her technical background, she represents biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food processing, chemical, and agricultural companies of all sizes. Suzanne has specific technical experience with novel proteins and recombinant DNA, bioinformatics, antimicrobial and cancer therapeutics, diagnostics, plants, vaccines, and food processing. She also has an active pro bono practice.

Prior to joining the firm, Suzanne interned at the United States International Trade Commission’s Office of Unfair Import Investigations (OUII), which represents the public interest in adjudicatory investigations involving allegations of patent or trademark infringement, copyright infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, passing off, false advertising, and antitrust violations.

She also was a student attorney at Howard University School of Law’s Investor Justice and Education Clinic, where her work primarily focused on large financial services companies, as well as their brokers and investment advisers.

Suzanne is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Relevant Experience

  • Prepares and prosecutes domestic and foreign patent applications including re-examinations, interferences and appeals.
  • Conducts patentability, infringement and validity due diligence analyses and opinions.
  • Assists with patent litigation, including pretrial investigation, discovery and pretrial motions practice.
