Carey Olsen Advises Quantum Advisors on Indian Focused Fund

June, 2024 - Bermuda

Carey Olsen's investment funds team in Jersey has advised India-based investment firm Quantum Advisorson the launch of its Jersey fund, Q India Advantage Fund ("Q India").

Established as a Jersey Private Fund, Q India will invest into Quantum's existing fund, Q India Equity Value Fund ("Master Fund"), allowing a much larger investor base to gain exposure to the Master Fund's investment strategy of a publicly listed equity-oriented portfolio seeking to benefit from the anticipated growth and development of the Indian economy.

The Carey Olsen team advising Quantum Advisors comprised partner Chris Griffin, regulatory specialist Sophie Hancock and associate Tshogofatso Dhlamini.

Chris Griffin commented: "We greatly enjoyed helping Quantum to increase its distribution channels with its Jersey feeder, particularly given the exciting Indian growth strategy. This project shows that the JPF can act as a perfect add-on to an existing fund structure which may be domiciled elsewhere and is struggling to maximise its investor universe."

Roger Mortimer, head of business development (EU) at Quantum Advisors said: "We are delighted with efforts of the Carey Olsen team in launching the Q India Advantage Fund. With the majority of our current $2.5bn strategy AUM coming from sovereign wealth and global pensions, the JPF structure will enable a wider range of sophisticated investors to access our flagship Indian equity strategy."
