Will Manuel Quoted in Law360 on Recent EEOC Settlements Impacting Scrutiny of Construction Sector

August, 2024 - Birmingham, Alabama

Bradley attorney Will Manuel was quoted in Law360 on recent U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) settlements increasing construction sector scrutiny.

In addition to these persistent problems [underrepresentation, revolving door], Manuel pointed out that the EEOC is likely enhancing its scrutiny of the construction sector in light of its recent infusion of federal cash.

The bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, a $1.2 trillion commitment that President Joe Biden signed into law at the tail end of 2021, included new spending earmarked for upgrading highways, roads, bridges, railways, ports, airports and transit systems.

“Because there is so much federal money involved, the EEOC is saying they're going to keep an eye on some of these deals,” Manuel explained.
