Elvira Cortez Joins Dinsmore’s San Diego Office

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP welcomes Elvira Cortez to its San Diego office as an associate in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group.
Cortez comes to Dinsmore from Sullivan Hill, where she was responsible for developing defense strategy in complex, multi-million dollar construction defect cases. She successfully negotiated favorable settlements for large general contractors and subcontractors. Cortez has also represented businesses in resolving commercial and employment disputes.
Cortez received San Diego Business Journal’s Best of the Bar in 2016 and 2017 and is a board member of the Lawyers Club of San Diego. She also co-chairs the Lawyers Club Annual Dinner Committee. Cortez earned her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and received her B.A. in political science from the University of California Los Angeles.
With the addition of Cortez, Dinsmore’s San Diego office grows to 15 attorneys. The office has grown by 250% since its opening in 2015 and continues to provide the San Diego business community access to a firm with national reach, broad practice areas and business-friendly rates.
